SAN DIEGO -- Frank Albert Nothnagel went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Oct. 27, 2009, and was lovingly surrounded by his children for his departure. He was born May 31, 1950, the son of Albert and Shirley Nothnagel. He was born and raised in McCook, Neb., with his three brothers and one sister. Mr. Nothnagel was a long time resident of San Diego.
Frank worked at North Island for 39 years. He was a devoted and amazing father and had four children, Eric, David, Paula and Jeria, two sons-in-law, Aaron and Frank, and he was also blessed with 11 grandchildren: Eric II, Alex, Ashton, Elizabeth, Aaron, Frankie Jr., Noah, Faith, Sarah, Jaylin, and "one-on-the way," Joy.
Frank was a witty man who was much loved, and adored spending quality time with his family. He was a man of great character, and was generous, kind, unique, and very loving. Frank especially looked forward to the holidays and spoiling his grandchildren. Frank achieved his black-belt in martial arts, and it was a passion he shared by teaching his grandchildren. It is a great comfort to his family to know that he has now been reunited with his son Poncho who also went home to be with the Lord at five months of age. He will forever be in the hearts of his family and will be loved for eternity.
Friends and family were invited to a celebration of Frank's life at The Four Points Sheraton at 2:00 pm, Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009 8110 Aero Dr., San Diego, Calif. 92123.
