Charles Michael Sutton, age 73, of Reeds Spring, Missouri, was killed in a car accident on April 10, 2024. He entered this life on June 3, 1950, in McCook, Nebraska, the son of Jack and Margaret Sutton. He was the second oldest of five children and, while he was always finding ways to "stir the pot," he was adored by his friends and family.
With a love for trains and bridges, Charlie worked as a bridge and building foreman for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad for forty years. In 1981, he met and married the love of his life, Diana. Together, they raised three children and went on to become adoring grandparents. He was a devoted husband and father and his family brought so much pride and joy to his life. Charlie was an avid fisherman and loved spending time out on the lake. He loved all animals and was known to always have a dog by his side. He even trained a largemouth bass named Walter to eat worms out of his hand. As impressive as that was, the thing that people remember most about Charlie was his smile and sense of humor. He was dependable and kind and always willing to lend a hand or just share a smile to make someone's day a little bit better.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Jack and Margaret Sutton; brother, John Sutton; and sister, Mary Sutton.
Charlie is survived by his wife of forty-three years, Diana Sutton; three children: James Augustine, Adam Sutton, and Amanda Abell; two brothers: Paul Sutton and Robert Sutton; four grandchildren; and his faithful dog, Leo.
