CAMBRIDGE, Nebraska -- Leslie L. Harris, 67, died Saturday (Sept. 7, 2013), at Cambridge Memorial Hospital in Cambridge.

He was born Oct. 13, 1945, in Canadian, Texas, to Charles and Esther Harris. He grew up in Beverly, Nebraska, where he attended grade school. He attended high school at McCook Public Schools in McCook, Nebraska. In February of 1964, he entered the US Navy and was stationed in San Diego, California, at the Naval Base. He was deployed to Vietnam while serving on the USS Ingersoll and served two tours of duties before being honorably discharged in February of 1968.

On Oct. 17, 1970, he married Kora Laszlo in Tustin, California. They lived a short time in Santa Ana, California, before moving to Cambridge, Nebraska, in 1977. He owned his own construction company, worked as a mechanic, and drove a truck for numerous years. He was a member of the Congregational Church and American Legion in Cambridge.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Esther Harris and brother, Ron Harris

He is survived by his wife, Kora Harris of Cambridge; children, Mike and wife, Estela Harris of Cambridge, Brad and wife, Ellie Harris of Kenya, Africa, LeAnn Harris of LaGrange, Wyoming and six grandchildren.

Funeral services are Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, 10 a.m. at the Congregational Church in Cambridge with the Revs. Bill Weaver and Brad Harris officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date.

There will be no viewing or visitation, cremation was chosen.
