Enjoying retirement and enjoying 2 grand sons college Football. One graduating college in South Carolina.The others live close to McCook/Kansas except for the younger three that live near Omaha and one who works for Crete College in Lincoln. I have slowed down since a stroke in Oct of 2011 kept me from my 50 year reunion in Arizona with the class. Have good health We live on the farm and the garden is getting smaller each year but enjoy fresh vegetables on the table. We travel to Omaha to visit the little ones. A retirement puppy for me has changed our life quite a bit. Bengi keeps track of us and I keep up on hair cutting skills ,keeping him trimmed up. We enjoy our family and friends

I was Born and went all my school years in McCook.I remember Kindergarten & First grade at West Ward.They built North ward 31/2 blks North of our home on 3rd street. We were the first 2nd graders to go to North Ward. Mrs Altberg was our teacher.My favorite teacher Miss Kapple in 3rd grade. and in our 6th grade we had 3 teachers that year. one was Carolyn Corey and she was so happy to hear I had a new baby sister that year as my mother was her cousin. We went from there to the Junior high 7-9 at the old high school,the 6th grade school in later years. We were joined in the 9th grade with St.Pats kids and so met new friends too.We finally got to the new high school To complete our years in 1961. Meet many dear friends along the way. Several of us still visit up a storm at the bakery in McCook .
