SEATTLE, Wash. -- Kenneth Charles Osborn, 71, died July 28, 2014, in Seattle, after a long fight with Alzheimer's disease.

He was born Feb. 20, 1943, in North Platte, Nebraska, to Charles S. Osborn and Geraldine (Wyman) Osborn.

He graduated from high school in McCook, Nebraska, in 1961 and from the University of Nebraska in 1965, with a degree in math and physics. He taught high school math and physics and coached in Weeping Water, Nebraska and Arapahoe, Nebraska. In 1968, he and his family moved to Renton, Washington, so that he could take a job as a computer programmer with Boeing. He later worked for the Seattle School District and for Qwest in Bellevue, Washington.

He helped create the Lindbergh High School Memorial Scholarship Fund for deserving graduates, was a member of Renton United Christian Church and volunteered at Children's Medical Center, as well as at a food bank and in a prison ministry, with his wife, Donna.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Kimberly Christine Osborn.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Lane; step-son, Jacob and wife, Allison Lane; step-daughter, April Lane and husband, Joseph Gudge; his first wife, Nancy (Wolf) Osborn, and sons, Kevin C. and wife, Michelle Osborn and Kendall C. and wife, Lisa Osborn; brothers, Daniel and wife, Shirley Osborn of Mullen, Nebraska, and F. Martin and wife, Jacque Osborn of Circle Pines, Minnesota; two granddaughters and five step-grandchildren.

Donations may be given to the charity of your choice or to Children's Hospital Foundation. (P.O. Box 5371, Seattle, WA 98145). Donations given in his name will go to "Dr. Stamm's Summer Camp" unless otherwise noted.

Services are Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, 1 p.m. at Edmonds United Methodist Church at 838 Caspers Street, Edmonds, WA 98020. Inurnment will be at Mullen, Nebraska, on the Osborn family ranch.
