Jack Pepper - Class Of 1956

John (Jack) Pepper

John (Jack) Pepper, 76 of Littleton CO, passed away with his family at his side.

Born

May 30, 1938

Passed Away

July 16, 2014

Jack was the loving husband of Sally (Bramlet) Pepper for 52 years, kind and supportive father of JD Pepper & Jenny Pepper (Daughter in law), Pamela Mathisen & Bart Mathisen (Son-in-law), and Bob Pepper & Lisa Pepper (Daughter in law), and the gentle and always funny grandfather of Nicholas Pepper, Megan Pepper, Sarah Pepper, Tanner Mathisen, and Chayse Mathisen.

Jack was raised in McCook, Nebraska until he joined the Air Force. During his time in the Air Force he attended the University of Colorado (Boulder, CO) and graduated with a Master’s Degree in mathematics.

Jack dedicated his professional life to teaching others. While in the Air force he was a technology instructor and later worked for Control Data Corp as manager of CDC Institute in LA. Jack retired a Mathematics Professor from Arapahoe Community College, where he spent the bulk of his career (1971 to 1997). His love for teaching and his ability to make math fun was evident to his students. Jack always said how fortunate he was to have his family, friends and the best job in the world.

Jack is remembered as he lived; a dedicated husband and father always putting others ahead of himself, a fun-loving grandfather, “Papa”, always quick with a joke, humorous story, or saying that will stay with us forever. Jack sang songs every day and would get lost in his work; always whistling. He began each day with a compliment for his wife “You’re beautiful or You’re wonderful” and lived for the stories his children would share about their own journeys. We will miss you Sweetheart – Dad – Papa every day and you will be in our hearts forever.

The Family will be honoring and celebrating Jack’s life privately, but would love to hear your memories in comments below. In lieu of flowers the family asks that remembrances be directed to Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org
