PHOENIX, Ariz. — Keith (Hoagy) Hoagland passed away peacefully on Feb. 10, 2019, in Phoenix with family by his side. 

He was born January 1937 in McCook, Neb., the son of Keith and Stella Hoagland.

Hoagy graduated McCook High School, Class of 1955. He joined the U.S. Marines and served for four years. He later moved to California and met his wife, Marilyn, also from Nebraska on a blind date. They married in March 1962 and celebrated 56 years together. They settled in La Mirada, Calif.

He worked at ABF Trucking for 42 years and retired in 1990. He enjoyed his retirement to the fullest and was able to travel with his wife to one of his favorite places, Hawaii, many times. 

One of his most fulfilling roles and what brought him so much joy was being Papa to his grandchildren. He will always be remembered for being a devoted husband, loving father, kind Papa and loyal friend. He will be deeply missed by all those that knew him.

He is predeceased by his sister, Loraine (Cookie) Risley. 

Survived by his loving wife, Marilyn; his son, Skip and his wife, Stephanie of Litchfield Park, Ariz., and his two grandchildren, Sienna and Sabrina.
