Rosina Friederich (Jenson) - Class Of 1942

Rosina M. Jenson, 87 years, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Dougherty Hospice. Memorial services will be at 2:00, Saturday, December 29, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3801 East 26th, Sioux Falls. Visitation will be Friday, at 2:00 pm, with family present from 5-7:00 pm, all at Miller West Funeral Chapel, 41st and Valley View Rd, Sioux Falls.

Rosina Margaret Friederich was born on May 29, 1925 in Macon, Nebraska to the Rev. Fred C. and Lydia (Roth) Friederich. Her family moved through various Nebraska towns as her father was a pastor in the Methodist Church.

Following her graduation from McCook, NE high school, Rose worked at Fairmont Air Force Base during WWII. She attended Nebraska Wesleyan College in Lincoln, NE and it was there that she met Neal Jenson. Their union on June 6, 1947 endured with great love and dedication for 65 years. They lived in Nebraska and Minnesota before settling in Sioux Falls in 1957.

Rose filled her life with a multitude of activities – sewing, reading, baking, bridge, Mah Jong, knitting, chapter CL-PEO, and many volunteer positions with the Methodist Church and the YWCA – always learning and excelling at each turn. Most important to her was her family, and each and every one knew her great loyalty and love.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband Neal and her daughters Sandy (Herb) Wiswall and Kathy (Dan) Loveland; grandchildren Jeff (Kristi) Wiswall, David (Joel) Loveland, Steve Wiswall, and Julie (Jake) Swanstrom; and one great-grandson Driggs Wiswall; sister Doris (Charles) Klutts and brother Charles (Mary) Friederich.

Rose is preceded in death by one sister and her parents.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the Rose Jenson Memorial Fund at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, or to the PCE Scholarship for PEO.
