The book will include the concept, design and construction of the structure from its beginning through next four owners.

With a crowd that huge, its not surprising that there might be a few MHS grads in attendance. But what is surprising is the number of our alumni who attended or were actually part of the ceremony.

Anybody who was a student at McCook Junior High during the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, or 80’s knew Bob Backer. He spent 37 years in our school system, primarily as the junior high principal, retiring from that position in 1987. Bob was acknowledged as a strict disciplinarian by his students, but to his staff and faculty he was known for his ready smile, his quiet laugh, and his love of children.
