Patsy McKillip, 70, of Elkhorn, died on Aug. 25, 2000, at Mercy Hospital Hospice Center in Omaha. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 30, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Omaha. A Rosary will be said on 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 29, at the church. Patricia R. McKillip was born on Dec. 24, 1929, in McCook to Blaine G. and Esther (Nylander) Dutton. She graduated from McCook High School, and continued her education at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where she received her bachelor of science degree in nursing in 1954, and a master of arts from Idaho State University in 1959. She served as the head of the Department of Nursing at Idaho State University from 1960 to 1965, and Director of Nursing at Bank Memorial Hospital in Pocatello, Idaho. She taught nursing at Solano Junior College and the University of Alberta College of Nursing in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She and her family traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada as a result of her husband’s coaching career. She is survived by her husband, Leo, and son, Creighton, of Omaha; a son and daughter-in-law, Blaine and Tracy McKillip, also of Omaha; five grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Allen of McCook. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Betty Jane Niccolson.
