Fredie Boehm - Class Of 1944

Fredie A. Boehm, 77, died Wednesday (April 24, 2002) at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook. He was born March 7, 1925, to Fred and Mary Etta (Dwyer) Boehm in Lindsay, Neb. He grew up in McCook where he attended Saint Patrick's High School. In 1941, he entered the U. S. Navy where he served on the U.S.S. Celeno during World War II. Following his discharge in 1945, he returned to McCook where he worked with his family at Fred's Meat Market before going in to the construction business where he owned and operated Boehm Construction until retiring in 1993. On Nov. 13, 1947, he married Betty Jean Teeple at Trenton. He was a member of the American Legion and the McCook Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty in 1993; his parents; and one sister, Patty Shepherd. Survivors include two sons, Scott and wife, Rosa Boehm of McCook and Brad and wife, Audrey Boehm of Rapid City, S.D.; two daughters, Georgia and husband, Dave Ziegler of Kasson, Minn. and Laura Jo and husband, Lonnie Malleck of Syracuse, Kan.; one brother, Charles and wife, Jackie Boehm of McCook; two sisters, Beatrice Wilson of Corpus Christi, Texas and Catherine O'Neil of McCook; seven grandchildren; and one great grandson.
