Bremerton resident Clarence E. Washenfelder, 79, died Dec. 28, 1996, at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
He was born Oct. 11, 1917, in McCook, Neb., and graduated from McCook Public High School.
On Nov. 17, 1945, he married Marie L. King in Reno, Nev.
Following a career in retail sales, Mr. Washenfelder was a custodian at Silverdale Elementary School until retiring in 1975.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, Dennis of Richland; a daughter, Linda Owen of Walla Walla; a sister, Dorathy Trimpey of Lafayette, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
Services are pending. Arrangements are under the direction of Bleitz Funeral Home, Seattle.
