Elaine Loar (Isley) - Class Of 1937

Elaine (Loar) Isley Friday, March 15, 2002 RANCHO BERNARDO, Calif. -- Elaine (Loar) Isley, 83, died Thursday (March 7, 2002). She was born in Atwood to Maude and Grover "Pop" Loar. At age six, the family moved to McCook and she attended East Ward elementary school. She graduated from McCook High School in 1937. After attending McCook Junior College, she worked in Los Angeles, Calif. until 1940. She then returned to McCook and went to work at the McCook Army Air Base, where she met and later married Morris "Ted" Isley, who was training in B-24 bombers. He was hired by TWA after the war and they moved to Kansas City, Mo. In 1949 they returned to McCook where he was employed at Loar Electric Company. In 1957, they moved to San Diego, Calif. and started an electrical contracting business. Following his death in 1979, she moved to Rancho Bernardo to be near her sons. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Eureka Chapter No. 86 of McCook. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother. Survivors include three sons, Gary L. Isley, M.D. of Coronado, Calif., David L. Isley of Poway, Calif, and Robert M. Isley of Escondido, Calif.; five grandchildren, and a cousin, Loaraine Little Schleicher of Holdrege. Inurnment was at the Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego.
