Kim Patrice Svatora was born March 15th, 1959, to Neil and Patricia (Thompson) Kitt in Imperial, Nebraska. Kim spent her early years on the family farm south of Wauneta, where she relished her time on the back of her horse Apache. The family later moved to Denver, Co. after a few years in the mile high city, the family moved to Portsmouth, VA where she lost her father when she was 14. Kim was uprooted again when her mother and younger sister, Julia, convinced her to move back to McCook, NE to be closer to Kim’s 2 older brothers.

Kim graduated from McCook Community College, then the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She worked in finance for several years in Lincoln before meeting and marrying Alan Chromy of Linwood, NE. A car wreck took the life of Alan in 1994. Two weeks later son, Jared, was born. Kim then joined her brother, Lonnie, at QC Supply in Schuyler, NE where she managed clothing design and sales.

Schuyler native Roger Svatora and Kim were married in 2003 and later in 2004 daughter, Shyann, was born. She adored boating on the lake with her family, and her friends were her favorite pastime. Always a fighter, she battled through more tragedies and heartaches than most, but her diagnosis with Dementia when she was 56 proved to be too much. She will be remembered for her beautiful and infectious smile, her orneriness, and her lust for life.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Terry Kitt (Laverta) and survived by husband Roger Svatora, son Jared Chromy and daughter Shyann all of Schuyler; brother Lonnie Kitt (Patti) of Schuyler; and sister Julia Karp (David) of McCook and many nieces and nephews.
