Harold "Bud" Kleckner - Class Of 1961

Harold "Bud" C. Kleckner, Jr., age 80, passed away at the UCHealth Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado on Monday, September 19, 2022. He was born in McCook on April 22, 1942, to Harold C., Sr, and Mae Pearl (Kerr) Kleckner. Bud attended school in McCook and graduated from McCook Senior High School in 1961. On February 17, 1963, Bud was united in marriage to Connie Clesson of McCook. The couple celebrated their 59th anniversary this year. Bud was employed as a manager of the Komac Paint store in Boulder, Colorado and later at their McCook store. He was a carpet mechanic, laying carpet for McCook Floor Covering and later for Samway Furniture for over 25 years. He enjoyed rendezvouses with the Pawnee Free Trappers and their black powder shoots. In his younger days, he was a member of the Asphalt Angels. He and the family took vacation trips to California, Minnesota, Texas, Kansas, and Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Mae; parents-in-law, Albert and Kay Clesson; as well as nieces and nephews. Bud is survived by his wife, Connie of McCook; two daughters, Casandra Markland of Sacramento, California and Khila (Mike) Stacey of Arvada, Colorado; two sons, John (Chris) of Eden Prairie, Minnesota and Daniel Kleckner of McCook; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his sister, Diane (Robert) Murphy of Sequim, Washington. The family chose cremation.
