Sharon Hollars (Crowe) - Class Of 1957

 

 

Sharon L. Crowe, 81, of McCook, passed away Friday, June 25th, 2021 at Community Hospital in McCook. She was born on November 24, 1939 to Roland and Doris (Redd) Hollars in McCook, Nebraska. Sharon attended school in McCook and graduated from McCook High School with the class of 1957. She furthered her education at McCook Junior College, graduating in 1959. On June 5, 1960 she was united in marriage to Ronald L Crowe in McCook, Nebraska. In June of 1967 they were blessed with one son, Kerry. Ronald and Sharon would spend their entire lives together in the McCook community. Sharon worked as an operator at Northwestern Bell from 1960-1980. She also was the warehouse manager at Lots to Love from 1986 to the mid-2000s. Sharon was a member of the First Christian Church and she and Ronald were active in the McCook area. She was a lifelong lover of the arts and enjoyed painting china as a member of the McCook China Painters, she also took great care with the many oil paintings that she created over the years. She loved flowers and spent countless hours beautifying her backyard. Sharon loved to play cards and dominoes and loved time spent at the lake, especially time spent fishing. The greatest gift in her life were her four grandchildren; she passed on her love of playing cards to them, but, that didn’t mean she would let them beat her in Slapjack. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; aunt and uncle, Clara and John Lee; and sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Donald Hinz. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 61 years, Ronald Crowe of McCook; son, Kerry Crowe of McCook; grandchildren: McKenzie (Bryce) Bivins, Madison Riemenschneider, Crosby Crowe, and Cooper Crowe; step grandchildren: Baily, Beau, Chloe, and Clair Craig; brother, Mark (Sharon) Hollars; cousin, Norma Whistler; nephew, Troy (Brenda) Hinz; niece, Tawny (Carl) Blatz; and a host of friends. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 P.M. (CT), Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook with Pastor Lonnie Felcher officiating; the family asks that you honor Sharon by wearing purple on that day.
