Mary Ann Wagner (Wall) - Class Of 1947

Mary Ann Wall, 89, of New Braunfels and Houston, Texas, passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord, surrounding by family on Wednesday, December 5, 2018. She was known for her infectious se3nse of humor and indomitable spirit. Mary Ann was born on April 18, 1929 the 5th child of Jacob John Wagner, a Carpenter and Clara Trupp in McCook, Nebraska. She was a Great Depression Baby, and the need for financial frugality stayed with her throughout her life. She met her husband, Lester Orin Wall, the love of her life while she was in Nurse’s training at St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado, and Les was attending The University of Colorado in Boulder. They married August 21, 1952for almost 60 years. Les began his career as a PE teacher and coach and Mary Ann worked as a Public Health Nurse in Ft. Morgan, Co. Their first son, Bradley Alan Wall, was born in Denver in 1954. They then moved to Casper, Wyoming to follow Les’s career where child number 2, Jane Leslie Wall Lewallen, was born in 1956. They moved from Casper to Denver, then Colorado Springs, Corpus Christi, TX and finally to Houston in 1973. They loved to spend summers in Pagosa Springs, CO. Mary Ann was an avid supporter of the Republican Party where she was a member of Village Republican Women in Houston, Treasurer of The Texas Federation of Republican Women, and was Precinct chairman for over 15 years. She was a delegate for and attended many Texas Republican Conventions. Her Crowning achievement came in 2005 when she was awarded “One of the most ten most important Republican Women” In Texas, as presented by Senator John Cornyn. She was also a woman of God and participated in numerous ministries at Grace Presbyterian Church in Houston including Powerful Tools for Caregivers, Women of the word and Circe Bible Study, and sang in the Encore Choir. At the time of her death, she was member of First Protestant Church of New Braunfels. Mary Ann is survived by her son; Bradley Alan Wall,64, of Galveston, Jane Wall Lewallen,62, of New Braunfels, and granddaughter, Leslie Ann Rebescher, 28, of Houston. Graveside service will be held at Forest Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Rd. Houston, TX, on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 1:00p.m.
