LeAvis Koler (Rutt) - Class Of 1947

LeAvis "Lee" Rutt passed away Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at Hillcrest Nursing Home. She was 82 years old. Lee was born on June 27, 1929, to Charles and Edith (Shepherd) Koler in McCook. She and her older sister, Rae Ellen, were raised there, where she graduated from high school in 1947. In June of 1947, she wed Dick Rutt, also of McCook. There, they raised three children, Jim, Tom and Marcia. Lee was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church. She spent many years working as a florist providing flowers for weddings, funerals, and for churches in the area. Lee spent her entire life in McCook, a place she loved and never wanted to leave. Lee was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Dick Rutt; her son, Jim Rutt; and granddaughter, Amber. She is survived by her children, Tom and Creta Rutt and Kevin and Marcia Spradlin, all of Clarkston, Washington; her five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; nephew, Den Campbell of Cambridge; and niece, Kim Riley of McCook. Memorials may be addressed to the American Cancer Society. At Lee's request, there will be no service a private inurnment will be held at a later date.
