LINCOLN, Nebraska -- M. June Kuper, 90, formerly of McCook, Nebraska, died Sunday (Feb. 6, 2011), in Lincoln.

She was born July 1, 1920, in Friend, Nebraska, to William "Billy" and Mattie (Hudson) Scheidt.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; parents; and a sister, Doris Bauer.

She was a member of P.E.O. Chapter GQ, and an assistant in the Nebraska unicameral to several state senators. She was also a member of TTT DAR Deborah Avery Chapter, St. Paul United Methodist Church, Willard Sorority, NWU Alumni Association, Germans from Russia, and O.E.S. Rose Standish Chapter in Friend.

She is survived by her daughters, Jane E. and husband, Gary E. Raetz of Leawood, Kansas, and Judith K. and husband, Bruce W. Sweney of Lincoln; five grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are Saturday, 11 a.m., at St. Paul United Methodist Church Chapel, 1144 M Street, Lincoln, with the Rev. David Lux officiating. Burial is Saturday, 9 a.m., at Andrew Cemetery in Friend.

Visitation is Friday, 2-8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. at Metcalf Funeral Home, 245 N. 27th Street, Lincoln.
