Ken Bollerup - Class Of 1947

 

Kenneth Richard Bollerup, 75, died Friday (Sept. 10, 2004) at Madonna Rehabilitation Center in Lincoln. He was born July 18, 1929, to Christian and Elfrieda (Shaper) Bollerup in McCook. He grew up in McCook and graduated from McCook High School in 1947. He joined his father at Otto Oil, the family business of mobile and propane products. On June 13, 1948, he married Myrna Harmon at the Memorial United Methodist Church in McCook. The couple spent their lives in McCook. From 1984 until his retirement in 1992, he worked in maintenance at McCook Community College, where he became director. He was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church for over 50 years and he was a life member of the McCook Elks Lodge No. 1434. Survivors include his wife, Myrna of McCook; daughter, Chris Fahrenbruch of Salina, Kan.; two sons, Richard Bollerup and wife, Therese of Lincoln and Dr. Edwin Bollerup and wife, Deb of Virgina Beach, Va.; one sister-in-law, Veldron Harmon of McCook; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services are Saturday, 10 a.m., at the Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Jeff Thurman officiating. Inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook. Memorials may b e given in his name and friends may sign h is register at the funeral home during business hours. Herrmann Funeral Home of McCook is in charge of the arrangements
