Elaine E. Moderow, 59, of ..., a career nurse, died Tuesday, June 14, at her home after a long illness. Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church. The Rev. William Voelker will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be... at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home...

Mrs. Moderow ws born Dec. 20, 1928, at Deshler, the daughter of Carl and Hattie Timmerman Rosenkoetter. She received her education at St. Peter's Lutheran School and was a 1946 graduate of MCook High School. She then attended the Lincoln General Hospital School of Nursing and was graduated as a registered nurse in 1949. She married Kenneth Moderow on June 17, 1951, at Humboldt. They lived in Grand Island whre she worked as a nurse at the VA Medical Center, working in the operating roo, the surgical wards and the intensive care unti. She had been a night supervisor and was head nurse on the surgical floor at the time of her death. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, the Shalom Society and the D.A.V. auxiliary. She also was a Reach to Recovery volunteer.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Ms. Greg (Cindy) Hasseldahl of Richfield, Minn., Mrs. Doug (Sandy) Jacobs of Grand Island and Mrs. Jeff (Vicky) Sanders of Arlington, Texas; four grandchildren; a brother, Eugene Rosenkoetter of Grand Island; and a sister, Mrs. Dale (Marilyn) Lloyd of Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, the Rev. Robert Rosenkoetter.
