Merle Smith (Paul) - Class Of 1945

Nov. 25, 1926-May 13, 2007 SUN CITY, Ariz. -- Merle L. Paul of Sun City, Ariz., died May 13, 2007 at the age of 80. She was born Nov. 25, 1926, in McCook, Neb., to Chester J. And Ethel (Scott) Smith. Merle graduated from McCook High School in 1945, on October 25 of that year she married Glen E. Paul. They made their home in McCook for 23 years moving to Spearfish, S.D., in 1968, then to Bismarck, N.D., in 1971, Spokane, Wash., in 1980, and finally to Sun City, Ariz., in 1992. During her years in Sun City she kept busy as a volunteer usher at the theater and dancing at the Elks Club. Merle was preceded in death by her husband, mother, and father. She is survived by two sons, John and his wife Jacque of Colorado Springs, Colo., Robert and his wife Judy of Cheyenne, Wyo.; one granddaughter, Julane and her husband Kory and their children, Gracie and Daniel of Cheyenne, one grandson Christopher and his wife, Jina and their daughter, Lauren of Sioux Falls, S.D. A memorial service will be held at St. Alban's Episcopal Church at 2 p.m., Friday. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to St. Alban's Episcopal Church, 509 W. 1st St. McCook, NE 69001.
