PITTSBURG Texas - Mary Kathryn Eddy, age 57, of Pittsburg, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by the comforts of her home. She faced her illness with remarkable strength and grace, embodying resilience until the very end.

Born on July 1, 1966, in Great Falls, Mo., Mary Kathryn was the beloved daughter of Robert and Alvina Loran Becker. At the tender age of two, she relocated to McCook, where she blossomed into a compassionate and spirited individual. Mary’s educational journey took her through the halls of Saint Patrick’s and the public schools, culminating in her graduation in 1984. Fuelled by ambition and a drive for success, she ventured to Texas to pursue a career in sales, embracing the opportunities that lay ahead with determination and enthusiasm.

Mary’s love for nature was evident in every aspect of her life, and her compassion extended to the furry friends she held dear. Animals held a special place in her heart, embodying her nurturing spirit and deep connection to the world around her.

Mary leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, cherished by her loving husband, John Brown of Pittsburg, her son Dylan Eddy and daughter-in-law Haley of Pittsburg, seven siblings, four stepchildren, two grandchildren, and her beloved cats: Rusty, Snowflake, and Tiger.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alvina and Robert Becker, and first husband, Cliff Eddy.

In the tapestry of life, Mary Kathryn Eddy’s vibrant spirit will forever remain woven into the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her unwavering love, infectious laughter, and compassionate soul will continue to i0.nspire and uplift those she leaves behind.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on April 7 in Athens, Texas where friends and family will gather to honor her memory and share the profound impact she had on their lives. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The Humane Society in Mary’s honor, continuing her legacy of kindness and compassion.

As we bid farewell to Mary Kathryn Eddy, may we find solace in the knowledge that her spirit now soars among the stars, forever guiding and watching over us with love and light.
