In Memory

Lyn Reynolds - Class Of 1975

Lyn Reynolds was born on May 2, 1957 in McCook, Nebraska to Stanley and Jeannine (Mockry) Reynolds. He attended school in McCook and Wilsonville, Nebraska and graduated from McCook High School with the class of 1975. Lyn was united in marriage to the love of his life, Marcia Coburn on June 5, 1976. The couple made Cedar Bluffs, Kansas their home where they farmed and ranched together and raised their children, Lyndsi, Grant, and Amber. Lyn’s work ethic and love of animals was passed on to his children as they watched him care for the livestock and crops on the family farm. Lyn’s work on the farm also gave him a lifetime worth of experience that allowed him to work on and fix almost anything. Lyn was a member of the Assembly of God Church; he devoted his life to serving God. Deep faith, a love of people, and a lifetime spent reading his Bible led Lyn to share his faith as a pastor at the Assembly of God Church in Morland, Kansas. Lyn was a member of the National Rifle Association; he was passionate about hunting and shooting sports. He studied astronomy and kept his hands busy with woodworking. Music was an enormous inspiration for Lyn and a passion that he passed on to his children; Lyn was almost always listening to music. He was also a talented musician in his own right, playing the guitar and the trumpet. His great sense of humor, encouraging words and humility will be missed by everyone that knew him. Lyn’s faith and patriotism will live on through his immediate and church families. Lyn passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. He was 66 years of age. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marian and Lee Ora Mockry and Francis and Lila Reynolds; his mother, Jeannine Reynolds; sister, Debbie Thee; nephew, Landen Reimer; and his parents-in-law, Albert and Louise Coburn. Lyn was happiest when surrounded by his family; his faith will live on through his wife, Marci of the homeplace; his children, Lyndsi, Grant (Ruth), and Amber; grandchildren: Cadyn and Raegan Smith, Darika Lorentz, and Gavin and Aubrielle Reynolds; sister, Carli (Leonard) Reimer; brothers-in-law, Gregg Thee and Darrell (Jan) Coburn); brother, Paul (Kristine) Reynolds; as well as a large extended family including many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30AM on Monday, January 15, 2024 at the First Assembly of God Church in McCook. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery of McCook will follow services.
