Bill Ruby - Class Of 1963

HASTINGS, Neb. — Hastings resident William A. “Bill” Ruby, 73, passed away Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings. Services are 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Chaplain John Mueller officiating. Burial with military rites is 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, at Maywood Cemetery, Maywood, Neb. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018, 6-8 p.m. with family present, and one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Private condolences may be sent to the family at www.lbvfh.com. Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home & Cremation Center is serving the family. Bill was born March 13, 1945, in Danbury, Neb., to William “Wesley” and Eunice (Yarnell) Ruby. He served with the U.S. Army and Nebraska National Guard for 35 years. Bill married Ruth L. “Tiny” Littell on March 19, 1971; she preceded him in death on Nov. 24, 2005. They were married for 34 years. Bill was employed by A1 Fiberglass and retired from the U.S. Army. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; wife, “Tiny” Ruby; and many others. Survivors include son, Wesley and wife, Megan Ruby of Hastings, daughter, Tina Gardner of Hastings; grandchildren and spouses, William and Helaina LuVaas, Pamela and Charles Buckles Garon Gardner, Callen Ruby and Decker Ruby, all of Hastings; great-grandchildren, Chase LuVaas, Maci LuVaas and Blaine Buckles; siblings and spouses, Katie and Lefty Lewis of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Joe and Wanda Gouldsmith of Omaha, Neb., Robert Ruby of Kearney, Neb., Dale Littell, Maywood, Neb., and Linda and Ronnie Werkmiester of Curtis, Neb.
