In Memory

Larry Graff - Class Of 1961

WINDSOR, Colo. — Larry George Graff, 75, of Windsor, passed away on July 5, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. Larry was born March 2, 1943, in McCook, Neb., to George and O'Linda (Kautz) Graff (now deceased) and had one sister, Barbara (also deceased.) He served in the U.S. Navy from May 1966 to May 1968, was a Vietnam veteran, and honorably discharged. In June 1968 he met Peggy Brown and they married Feb. 2, 1969. To this union they had three beautiful children, daughter, Jody Monsivais (Jim); son, Kevin (Kristen); and daughter, Danielle Peterson (Brad); six grandchildren, Breanne Schleisman (Ryan), Kylie, and Garrett Graff; Lane and Braylon Monsivais; and Victor Peterson. He was also blessed with four great-grandchildren, Avarie, Nolan, Rylie and Michael Schleisman. He is survived by Peggy, children, grand and great-grandchildren, and many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and extended family. Larry and his young family moved to Colorado in 1972, where he worked as a lead lineman and lineman supervisor for Poudre Valley REA and Ward Electric, retiring in 2010. He was a man of honor and dignity and had been a pillar of strength for his family and provided them with strong values steeped in American work ethics and traditions. Larry will forever be in the hearts of the people who loved him. He was always young at heart, a lover of life, and everyone's favorite Papa. He loved Nascar, dominoes, and would never miss a Nebraska football game. He pursued his love of football throughout high school where his team was undefeated and later inducted into the Hall of Fame in Lincoln. He was a family man, social butterfly, and lit up any room with his big beautiful smile, amazing chuckle, and quick wit. It is said time heals the pain but wonderful memories will always remain. He will be missed.
