Robert Hull - Class Of 1955

Robert Lee Hull

March 2, 1936 – May 1, 2018

Robert Lee Hull of McCook went to be with his Eternal Savior on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.  He was 82 years old.

Bob was born on March 2, 1936 at Lynch, Nebraska, the son of Doyle and Sophie Ann (Frank) Hull. The family moved to McCook when Bob was ten years old.  He attended McCook Schools and graduated with the class of 1955.  During his senior year, Bob was active in track and held first place in the mile run.

After graduation, Bob joined the Army and was deployed aboard a ship to France. While aboard ship, he suffered a broken leg and was sent to Virginia where he was given an honorable discharge. 

Bob returned to McCook and began working for a lumber company. He married Lucille Matson and to this union two daughters were born, Candy and Theresa.  He later married Rose Hull and adopted her two sons, Robert and Chris.  Bob continued working for the city of McCook for 24 years and then retired. 

Bob loved his Lord and was a member of Peace Lutheran Church where he volunteered as an usher. He was known for his infectious smile and will be missed by family and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Doyle and Sophie Hull; Lucille Matson; son, Robert Hull; brother, Marvin Hull; and special friend, Rose Hull.

Survivors include his two daughters, Candy and husband, Napoleon Lopez, of Grand Island and Theresa and husband, Rick Dungan, of Oklahoma; step-son, Christopher Hull and wife, Sheila, of Culbertson; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Hull of Salma, NC; and close friend, Joyce Hofman of McCook.

Memorials may be given in his name.

Visitation will be Friday, May 4, 2017, at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel. The family will be present from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. to greet friends.  Words of comfort and condolences may be sent to the family at www.herrmannfh.com

Funeral service will be Friday, May 5, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, McCook, NE, with Pastor Lonnie Felcher officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Honors.
