Dean Berndt - Class Of 1955

McCOOK, Neb. — Dean B. Berndt, age 81, of McCook, passed away at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018. He was born in McCook on Sept. 4, 1937, to Gust and Mary (Crocker) Berndt. Dean graduated from McCook High School in 1955. He farmed most of his life in the Danbury area before retiring to McCook. On Sept. 11, 1960, Dean was united in marriage to Helen Hall in McCook. Dean enjoyed NASCAR racing, stock car racing at local tracks, farm auctions, and fishing “one time” after the Beaver Creek flooded. He and Helen traveled to Florida, Texas, Arizona and many other states. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, David; brothers, Raymond and wife, Dorothy and Gilbert; and sister, Velma McBride. Dean is survived by his wife, Helen of McCook; two sons, Danny and wife, Shelly and Mike Berndt, all of Danbury, Neb.; daughter, Lori and husband, Mark Loseke of Minden, Neb.; two grandchildren, Levi and Laci Loseke; brother-in-law, Robert McBride of McCook; sister-in-law, Phyllis Berndt of McCook; extended family, Bernard and Sue Hall of Culbertson, Gayle and Barb Ruggles of McCook, Rex Moore and Barb Lyon of Danbury, Steve Hardie of Sperry, Okla., and Bob and Janine Hall-Pattenburg of McCook. Funeral services will be Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at Memorial United Methodist Church with Pastor Jeff Kelly officiating. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery of McCook.
