Yvonne Brunswick (Hager) - Class Of 1952

Funeral services for Georgia Yvonne Hager will be on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in McCook, Neb., with Pastor Jeff Kelley officiating.  Georgia Yvonne Hager, 85 years of age, died on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021, at Tabitha Long Term Care in Crete. Yvonne was born on Feb. 22, 1935, in McCook. She was one of seven children, born to Francis and Merle (Whitney) Brunswick. She received her education from McCook Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 1952. Yvonne had five children, Randy, Talana Sue, David, Penny and Kim. Before retirement, she worked for Kuglar Company for 22 years as credit manager. Prior to her employment at Kuglar’s, she worked at the Credit Bureau and was a telephone operator and nurse’s aide at St. Catherine’s Hospital. Yvonne lived in McCook for the majority of her life. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary No. 2769 since 1973 and served as past president three times and as a State officer. She was past president of Bernard Elbert VFW Auxiliary, past president of Business and Professional Women, past co-chairman of United Way Fund raising, and past president of Toast Masters II of McCook. She was a CASA volunteer for six years. Yvonne was a member of the Wilber United Methodist Church in Wilber, Neb. She played on the McCook women’s pool league for 20 years, collected lots of elephants over the years and loved to spend time with her family. Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cecil B. Hager; daughter, Talana Sue; great-grandson, Matthew; and brothers, Ernest, Harold, Verlyn and Virgil. Yvonne leaves to celebrate her life her children, Randy Blankenship and his wife, Monica of McCook, David Blankenship of Huntsville, Ala., Penny Bendorf and her husband, Jim of Wilber, Neb., and Kim Spargo of Hastings, Neb.; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, sister, Phyllis McCarville of McCook and brother, Richard Brunswick of Colorado Springs, Colo.; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. There will be no visitation as the family honored Yvonne’s wishes to be cremated. A memorial has been established in Yvonne’s memory and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
