Kenneth Bamesberger - Class Of 1939

Kenneth F. Bamesberger March 29, 1922 - Nov. 26, 2013 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado -- Our Lord, in His great love and compassion, reached out to Kenneth Bamesberger the afternoon of Nov. 26, 2013, and welcomed him to the everlasting joy of heaven from his home surrounded by his loving family. Ken was born March 29, 1922, in Red Willow County, Nebraska. He grew up on the farm, went to school locallyand attended college in McCook, Nebraska. Ken was walking when Annie Oakley made her last few performances and watched agriculture change from being powered by horses to guided by satellites. He saw the red dust of tlic Midwest Depression to the crisp white snow of the Rocky Mountains. Ken was married to June Wegener on Jan. 11, 1953. Later the couple moved to Colorado Springs with two sons in 1960. He worked as a district court reporter in Red Willow County for many years and as a ski instructor at the Broadmoor ski area until his retirement in 1977. He was a patient, caring ski instructor who always seemed to know how to motivate his students and helped them to achieve their greatest potential. Until recently, Ken enoyed skiing, gardening and hiking in Cheyenne Canyon. Ken was a very active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church for more than 50 years, serving on the Board of Elders and secretary to the church council, using his talent as a court reporter taking shorthand He loved to sing in the Jubilate Choir as a tenor which he did until recently. Preceding him in death were his parents, Carl and Millie Bamesberger; sister, Norma Burton and brothers-in-law, Merwyn Burton, Howard Shields, Russell Rowley and Bill Clapp. He leaves behind in this vale of tears his wife, June; three sons, Craig, Kent and Brett and a daughter, Lisa Wright, all of Colorado Springs. Also, one brother, Dale and four sisters, Arlene Clapp, Ruth Shields Lois Lueking and Iris Rowley. He and June have 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. We give thanks to our Almighty God for His care and blessing to Ken in this life and for his faith that has carried him home to his eternal victory in heaven.
