Peoria, IL - Virginia M. Ryno, 88, of Peoria passed away at 11:55 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, at Heartland Health Care Center of Peoria.

She was born on Jan. 13, 1922, in McCook, Neb., to Wesley W. and Edna Strowig Swanson. She married Robert L. Ryno on Dec. 30, 1945, in Galesburg, Ill. He passed away on Sept. 23, 1978, in Peoria.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jack on Feb. 3, 1975; three brothers; and one sister.

Surviving are one daughter, Chris (Robert) Darling of Peoria; and four grandchildren, Jill Greenwood, Callie Greenwood, Matt Greenwood and Nate Greenwood.

Virginia was general account manager at L.R. Nelson Co.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Madison and Peoria Women's 9 Hole League, where she served as an officer, and Peoria Women's Bowling League.

Private family services will be at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Vonna Lou Larson officiating. Private graveside services will be in Easton Cemetery in Easton, Ill.
