McCOOK, Neb. — Kyle Dean Lauer of McCook went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, Oct. 23, 2017. He was 23 years old.

Kyle was born on Oct. 11, 1994, at North Platte, Neb., to parents, Kevin Lee and DeEtta R. (Meyers) Lauer. In his younger years, Kyle was a busy little boy that enjoyed his bike, playing basketball and soccer. He and his father enjoyed their time together participating in a Martial Arts class called To Shin Do for several years. While a child, Kyle’s father relocated to McCook and Kyle eventually joined him. He attended McCook Public Schools and graduated in 2014. They loved their time spent at the lake house. It was there that Kyle enjoyed boating, tubing, driving the golf cart around the lake house, and spending time with his family.

Kyle was blessed with two children, son, Kayson Lee and daughter, BrookLynne Noel. He was employed at Arby’s, a job he thoroughly enjoyed. He eventually moved to Lincoln to be near his mother, sister, and cousins. After a short time, Kyle returned to McCook to be closer to his children.

Kyle, along with his father, was employed as a maintenance tech at McCook Public Schools at the time of his death.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Karla Meyers; uncle, Allen Meyers; and numerous great-aunts and great-uncles.

He is survived by his children, Kayson Lauer of McCook and BrookLynne McBride of Benkelman, Neb.; mother, DeEtta Meyers of Lincoln; father, Kevin Lauer of McCook; brother, Brandon Lauer and wife, Jennifer, and their children, Allie, Cameren and Weston, all of Perry, Iowa; sister, Jalene and husband, Devon Oelke and their children, Bella and Lilliann of Lincoln; paternal grandparents, Larry and Barbara Lauer of McCook; uncles, Mitchell Meyers of Gering, Neb., and Brett Lauer of McCook; numerous great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins and a host of friends.

Memorials may be given in his name.

Memorial services will be Friday, Oct. 27, 2 p.m. at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook with Pastor Clark Bates officiating.
