Jeremy Jerome Horkey died Thursday (May 12, 2005), at the Community Hospital of McCook at the age of 21.

He was born June 18, 1983, in McCook, the son of Ben and Doris (Nichols) Horkey. He grew up in McCook and attended McCook High School. He completed his senior year at Lamar High School in Lamar, Colo. where he graduated in 2002. He returned to McCook where he worked construction for Hixson General Contractors. He enjoyed skeet shooting and collecting World War II memorabilia.

He is survived by his parents, Ben and Doris Horkey of McCook; four sisters, Justina Horkey of Lamar, Colo., Angela Lathwood, Monica Horkey, and Corinna Horkey all of McCook; relatives and friends.

The rosary will be at 7 p.m., Sunday, May 15, 2005, at the Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook and Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m., Monday, May 16, 2005, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook with the Rev. Jerel Scholl officiating. Internment will be in Calvary Cemetery in McCook.
