Former Greeleyite Is Killed in Action -
Dr. and Mrs. L. A. Magrath of McCook, former residents of Greeley, have received word that their son, GM Third Class Bernard Leo Magrath, 21, has been killed in action aboard a destroyer in the South Pacific.
Young Magrath was born in Greeley. The family moved to McCook 20 years ago.
Other survivors include three brothers, Larry, with an army medical unit in the European theater of war, Francis and Joe, at home, and one sister, Mary, a student at St. Mary-of-the-Wood College at Terre Haute, Ind.
