Adair Myers - Class Of 1940

Angus Adair Myers

June 26, 1922-Jan. 8, 2008

Angus Adair Myers, age 85, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.

He was born in McCook to Angus G. and Murrell Iola (Ike) Myers on June 26, 1922. He graduated from McCook High School in 1940.

He married Maxine E. Davidson in McCook on March 17, 1944. To this union, two daughters were born. They farmed and ranched south of McCook. He moved to Hillcrest Nursing Home in September of 2001.

He enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Husker football, hunting, his dogs and playing cards.

He was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, McCook Elks Lodge No. 1434 and the Eagles Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Arden Myers; and three sisters, infant Iola, LaVonna Imel and Iona Horacek; and longtime friend, Helen Beale.

Survivors include: daughters and spouses, Carla and Dick Winters and Cathy and Mark Heskett, all of McCook; five grandchildren and spouses, Shawn and Trina Winters, Stacy and Heidi Winters, Andrew and Deborah Heskett, Amy and David Beaulieu and Adam and Larissa Heskett; and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given in his name.

Cremation was chosen and a memorial service will be Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at the Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook with Clark Bates officiating. A private scattering will take place at a later date.
