Josephine Cuellar (Clark) - Class Of 1937

Josephine 'Josie' (Cuellar) Clark Josephine "Josie" (Cuellar) Clark, 83, died Thursday (September 13, 2001) at Community Hospital of McCook. She was born on Dec. 28, 1917, in Oklahoma, to Macedonia and Tranquelina (Luevano) Cuellar. She graduated from McCook High School in 1937. On March 23, 1980, she married Robert W. Clark at Dodge City, Kan. She lived most of her life in the McCook community. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Royal Neighbors, and the Business Professional Women. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and McCook Eagles. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Pete, Manueland Joseph Cuellar; and two sisters, Margaret Calvillo and Vetta Gilmore. Survivors include her husband, Robert of McCook; one daughter, Margaret Anne and husband, James Dowd of McCook; two step daughters, Karen and husband, Fred Gammel of Meza, Ariz., and Korrine and husband, Don P. Rowland of McCook; four brothers, John Cuellar of Columbia, Mo., Frank Cuellar of Omaha, Albert Cuellar of McCook and Richard Cuellar and wife, Mary Ellis, of McCook; two sisters, Juanita Bittner of Chicago, Ill., and Delores and husband, Mark Dougherty of Scottsbluff; one sister-in-law, Marilyn Cuellar of McCook; two grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial services will be Monday, 10 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. William Ryland officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery. Rosary services will be Sunday, 7p.m., at Carpenter Breland Chapel in McCook . Visitation is today until 5 p.m., and Sunday 2 p.m. until time of the rosary.
