Genevieve 'Gen' Greta Wagner Monday, December 18, 2006 July 24, 1914-Dec. 16, 2006 Genevieve "Gen" Greta Wagner, 92, died Saturday (Dec. 16, 2006), at Hillcrest Nursing Home. She was born July 24, 1914, in Red Willow County to Cecil Louis and Sarah Almeda (Myers) Ike. She graduated from McCook High School in 1931. On June 7, 1937, she married L. Jake Wagner in Oberlin. They made their home in McCook where she was owner and operator of Gen's Shop, a woman's clothing store. She retired in 1987. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Sarah Ike; her husband, L. Jake Wagner on Aug. 28, 1989; grandson, James LeRoy Baumfalk on Aug. 3, 1983; two brothers, Louis Ike (1974) and Jim Ike (1995); three sisters, Leona "Lee" Imel (1992), Betty Day (1984) and Esther Aman (1996). Survivors include her daughter, Mary Jo Baumfalk of McCook; one sister, Louise and husband, Jerry Krutsinger, of Alliance; one grandson; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Alban's Episcopal Church with The Rev. Sam Williams officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday and Tuesday during business hours and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends may go online at to extend condolences.
