John Barratt - Class Of 1955

HENDERSON, Nev. -- John Barratt died Sunday (May 12, 2002) at his home in Henderson, Nev. after a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was born Sept. 14, 1937, to Gerald I. and Ida Barratt in Oberlin, Kan. John moved together with his family to McCook in 1945, where he attended McCook City schools. He graduated from McCook High School in 1955. After graduating from McCook Junior College, John married Myrna Allen on Sept. 12, 1958. John was a retired civil engineer for the federal government. John was a resident of Henderson, Nev. where he had lived for the last 16 years.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Gerald I. and Ida Barratt; his in-laws, Bob and LaVaughn Allen; and two sisters, Effa Jean Barratt and Jackie Johnson.

John is survived by his wife, Myrna; one son, John N. Barratt, Jr.; one daughter, Kimberly Bolton, all of Henderson; daughters, Robyn Meyer of Central City, Neb. and Rebecca Gee of Silver Creek, Neb.; one brother, Jerry Barratt of Tekamah, Neb.; two sisters, Geraldean Anderson of Holdrege and Karen Dack of McCook; ten grandchildren; twelve nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Memorial services were held at the Warm Springs Baptist Church in Henderson, May 17, 2002.
