Irene Stennette (Ogier) - Class Of 1924

NORTH PLATTE -- Irene Ogier, 94, died Aug. 27, 2001, at Premier Estates. She was born May 30, 1907, at McCook to Charles and Myrta (Morgan) Stennette. She graduated from McCook High School with the class of 1924. She worked for Elmer Kay, Clerk of the District Court, for two years, leaving to work for the Nebraska Department of Roads where she worked until 1937. On April 24, 1937, she married Ramon A. Ogier. They spent their married lives in North Platte. In November of 1943, they adopted twins. She was a 50-year member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Signet 55 Order of the Eastern Star, Beauceant, and the Shrine Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ramon; her son, Ray; one brother, LeVerne; and an infant sister, Ruth. Survivors include her daughter, Joanne Kay and husband, Robert Carpenter of Denver, Colo.; two sisters, Edna Morris of Denver and Adelene Kvasnicka of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services were at the North Plate Cemetery with John Riter officiating.
