Raymond Harr - Class Of 1966

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Raymond W. Harr, 54, died Monday (Jan. 7, 2002) at North Side Hospital in St. Petersburg.

He was born Nov. 28, 1947, at McCook, to V. James and Dorothy (Converse) Harr. He grew up in McCook and graduated from McCook High School in 1966.

He earned a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Nebraska in 1971.

On Aug. 19, 1972, he married Linda Krcmarik in Omaha where he lived until 1987. The family moved to Fort Myers, Fla., where he worked for various architectural firms until 1993 when his health prevented him from working.

He was an accredited professional engineer in Nebraska, Florida and Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his father, V. James Harr in 1982.

Survivors include two daughters, Lean Harr and Jessica Harr, both of Cape Coral, Fla.; his mother, Dorothy Harr Burns and husband, Dr. Larry Burns of Fort Collins, Colo.; one brother, Phil and wife, Donna Harr of McCook; one sister, Dimis Harr of North Platte; three step-brothers, Dr. Michael and wife, Petty Burns of Fort Collins, Dr. Greg and wife, Lynn Burns of Kearney, and Paul and wife, Susan Burns of Yorba Linda, Calif.; and one step-sister, Mary and Pat O'Dea of Loveland, Colo.

Rite of Christian Burial will be Monday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. Gary Brethour officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.

The rosary will be recited Sunday, 7 p.m., at Herrmann Memorial Chapel.

Memorials are being accepted in his name in lieu of flowers.
