Michael was from McCook, NE and a Capt in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He played the drums in the combo at the University of NE.
Entered the Air Force after graduation in 1967. Sent to Vietnam in 1969. His Plane was shot down in Laos.

Captain Klingner was a pilot assigned to the 306th Tactical Fighter Squadron, 31st Tactical Fighter Wing, U.S. Air Force at Tuy Hoa Air Base, South Vietnam (his tour began 8 September 1969. On 16 April 1970, he was the pilot of a North American F-100D Super Sabre Fighter on a mission over Laos, when his aircraft crashed.
His remains were not recovered.
His name is permanently inscribed here, on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial and honored on the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial in Washington DC; VVM Wall, Panel 12w, Line 101.
