Ervin Zander - Class Of 1960

Ervin Lewis Zander, 59, died Thursday (May 23, 2002) at his home in McCook.
He was born June 19, 1942, to Eleanor Smith in Denver, Colo. He was raised by Edwin and Louise Zander on a McCook area farm. He worked for M & W Equipment before opening his own welding business known as Erv's Powderhorn.

He was married to Vernita Triplett and later to Verna Couch.

Survivors include two sons, Kevin C. Zander of California and Mark Zander of Oregon; one daughter, Elena Zander of Oregon; his mother, Eleanor Smith of Beaver City; two brothers, Henry "Hank" Zander of Oregon and Kevin Zander of Kansas; two sisters, Kim and husband, Phil Nickerson and Kathy Bolson of Kansas; and six grandchildren. Local survivors include one nephew, David Zander of McCook.

No memorial service has been scheduled.

Carpenter-Breland Funeral Home of McCook is in charge of arrangements.
