Larry Leibrandt - Class Of 1960

Larry Leibrandt, 61, died Tuesday (Aug. 31, 2004) at Community Hospital of McCook.

He was born Nov. 9, 1942, to LeRoy and Lois (Johnson) Leibrandt in McCook. He grew up in McCook and graduate from McCook High School in 1960. In 1962, he graduate from McCook Junior College and then attended Chadron State College and received his auctioneering degree from the Iowa School of Auctioneering.

On March 9, 1968, he married Betty Wilson of McCook and he spent his life in the McCook community. He organized the first College Rodeo in 1961 and 1962. From 1970 until his death, he was active in cattle buying and auctioneering business.

He was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in McCook.

Larry is survived by his wife, Betty of McCook; one son, Michael Leibrandt of North Platte; five daughters, Lisa Jurgens of Gardner, Kan., Larissa Fagundes and husband, John of Pepperell, Mass., Lydia Tilton and husband, Scott of Princeton, Minn., Laura Murray and husband, Jason of Fort Hood, Texas and Paula Leibrandt of Omaha; his parents, LeRoy and Lois Leibrandt of McCook; four sisters, LeAnna Leibrandt of Fort Collins, Colo., Loneta McKiernan of Geneva, Ill., Linda Taylor of McCook and LaVonne Salisbury of Phoenix, Ariz.; mother-in-law, Dorothy Wilson; sister-in-law, Carol Dugger and husband, Kenneth of McCook; brother-in-law, Richard Wilson and wife, Jean of Bonita, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.

Services were at Peace Lutheran Church in McCook with the Rev. Randy Wahl officiating. Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Herrmann Funeral Home of McCook is in charge of the arrangements
