IMPERIAL, Neb. — Carla Faye Brown was born to Roland Owings and Faye Etta (Purvis) Morgan on Aug. 2, 1961, in Olympia, Wash.

Carla received her GED and worked at many businesses in McCook and Imperial. In Imperial, she worked at Jack’s Place Diner for many years as a cook as well at the Community Center. Carla was a member of the Imperial Ladies Hospital Auxiliary. She loved to cook and spend time with her grandchildren.

Carla Brown passed away at her home in Imperial on April 26, 2017. She was 55 years of age.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; father; two step-fathers; and her brother, Lonnie.

Survivors include her daughter, Michelle Chiplaski of McCook, Neb., son, Rodney Brown of McCook,and daughter, Angela Kahm and husband, Dean of Julesburg, Colo.; mother, Faye Morgan of Imperial; brother, Clay Owings and wife, Vicki of Grand Island, Neb.; 10 grandchildren, Katie, Austin, Stacia, Kyler, Teagan, Rodney Jr., Cassondra, Zack, James and Justin; and one great-granddaughter, Alyssa

Memorial services were 11 a.m. (MT), Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Liewer Funeral Home in Imperial with Rev. Melody Newman officiating. A private family inurnment will be at a later date.

No visitation; Carla chose cremation.

A memorial has been established in her memory.

Liewer Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
