KEARNEY, Nebraska -- Dennis William Stewart, 52, died Sunday (Feb. 3, 2013), from injuries sustained from a fall.

He was born March 14, 1960, in Alliance, Nebraska, one of five sons born to William and Bettye Stewart. He attended school in McCook and graduated in 1979.

After high school, he worked in the oil fields, Dayco Rubber Co., the Elks Club and Mac's Drive-in. He married Ann Peister of Broken Bow on July 4, 1988, and they made their home in Houston, Texas. He was an independent courier driver while in Texas. In 1996, he operated a lawn service in Broken Bow. He moved to Kearney in 1999 where he worked for Omera Concrete Company.

He was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church in McCook.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert A., Randy W., and Charles E.; grandparents, Art and Nellie Stewart and grandmother, Florence Solace Carter.

Survivors include his parents, Bill and Betteye Stewart of McCook; one brother. Michael, of Houston, Texas and special friend, Ann Kesserwani of Kearney.

Memorial services are 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at Memorial United Methodist Church in McCook with the Rev. Lance Clay officiating. Burial will be in the McCook Memorial Cemetery.
