McCOOK, Neb. -- Ronald L. Remington of McCook, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015, at Bryan Medical Center West in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was 59 years old.

Ron was born on Feb. 5, 1956, in McCook to parents, Alden Vern and Catherine Elizabeth (McConville) Remington. He attended St. Patrick's Parochial School through the eighth grade. He graduated from McCook High School with the class of 1974.

Ron loved to hunt, fish and climb. He enjoyed traveling, taking many trips to Sturgis on his motorcycle. His other hobbies included photography, good food and watching drag racing. Ron had a heart of gold and it was his wish to be an organ donor at the time of death. By being so giving and gracious Ron has given a gift of life to many people in need of transplants. It is especially a gift of love during this advent season and the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alden and Catherine Remington; his maternal and paternal grandparents; brother-in-law, Doug Colby; and niece, Alisha Browder.

Survivors include his brother, Roy Remington of Culbertson; sisters, Bonnie and husband, Jim Schwartz of Clarkson, Nebraska, Dr. Rose Remington and husband, Mike Gall of Cambridge, Nebraska, Carolyn and husband, Rocky Stone of Denver, Colorado, Noreen Colby of Cambridge, Nebraska, Rhonda Remington of Palmer, Nebraska, Sharilyn Remington of Thornton, Colorado, and Christine and husband, William Lawrence of Arvada, Colorado; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in his name.

Rosary was recited Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook.

Memorial Mass is today, Dec. 14, 2015, 2 p.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Gary Brethour as Celebrant.

Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel of McCook, Nebraska, is in charge of the arrangements.
