Linda K. Dethlefsen

McCOOK, Nebraska -- Linda K. Dethlefsen of McCook passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Community Hospital. She was 55 years old.

Linda was born on April 23, 1956 at McCook to Frederick George and LaVerda Arlene (Payne) Karp. She graduated from McCook High School in 1974 and later continued her education at McCook Community College.

She was united in marriage to Cory Brown in August of 1979 in McCook and to this union a daughter, Sara Nichelle was born. She was later married to Colin Dethlefsen in 1983 in California and to this union a son, Colby Deane was born.

Linda managed the Cedar Motel for many years and later was employed at Sarge's. She enjoyed watching the Denver Bronco's and NASCAR. She also enjoyed arts and crafts, spending time in her garden, especially her flowers, and precious time with her family and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Fred and LaVerda Karp and sister, Donna Wickizer.

Survivors include her children, Sara and husband, Rhett Rogers of Stratton and Colby Dethlefsen of McCook; sister, Barbara Mayo of Kearney; brother, David Karp and wife, Julia, of McCook; two grandchildren, Brodie and Zoey Rogers; special friend, Dennis Buffington of McCook; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Memorial services will be Tuesday, April 17, 2012, 10:30 A.M. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating.
