Richard "Dick Rima - Class Of 1965

Richard “Dick” Alan Rima was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Community Hospital. He was 68 years old. Dick was born on May 29, 1947 in McCook to Fred and Peggy (Coleman) Rima. Dick grew up in McCook and graduated from McCook High School in 1965. After graduation he had various jobs and in August of 1989 he began his job at Heritage Hills Golf Course. He always said that the minute he stepped onto the golf course he felt like he was home. He loved working there and all those he worked with. He retired in the spring of 2014 due to his health. On March 25, 2006 he married the love of his life and best friend, Karen (Sue) Bales. She brought with her a readymade family that he loved and made them his very own. Dick was baptized July 9th, 2006, he loved deeply his church family at the McCook First Church of the Nazarene and they loved him. Some of Dick’s favorite memories were going on vacation trips with John and Susan taking pictures of water towers. Dick is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Wayne and Chet Rima; beloved daughter, Kimberly Campbell; great-grandson, Ethan Barajas and his faithful companion of 15 years, Buddy, the Border collie. Dick is survived by his loving wife, Sue, of McCook; daughter, Kelly Torres of Dodge City, KS; sister, Beth Goltl and husband, Lairy, of Oberlin, KS; mother-in-law, Velma Bales of Gering, NE; brothers-in-law and lifelong friend Dick Bales and wife, Virginia, of Scottsbluff, NE, Bob Bales of Akron, CO and Rod Bales and wife, Sue, of Minatare, NE; son-in-law, Mike Campbell of Holdrege, NE; eight grandchildren, Jessica, Nate, Samantha, Tyler, Megan, Kelsey, Kori and David and eight great-grandchildren; and many loved nephews and nieces. Dick will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Dick had Philippians 1:9 marked in his Bible-- “And this is my prayer; that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ.” Dick will be waiting for us with his arms open wide. Memorials may be given in his name. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 8, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel. Friends may go online at www.herrmannfh.com to extend condolences to the family. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2016, 10:30 a.m. at the McCook First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Rick Stapp officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel of McCook is in charge of the arrangements.

Linda Booth (Hein) (1965)

Dick was a sweetheart and I always enjoyed visiting with him. So glad he felt good enough to make it to part of the reunion. When I think of Heritage Hills I think of Dick with that wonderful grin on his face. He will be missed. Linda Booth Hein
