Joe was born on December 6, 1945 in Brooklyn, New York to Morris Droskin and Violet Adamson Droskin. He attended McCook Senior High School in McCook Nebraska and was a graduate of The University of Nebraska, Kearney earning his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration while also serving in the Army National Guard. Joe was united in holy matrimony to Cheryl Lynn Peterson in 1965. Joe and Cheryl were devoted companions and were blessed with three children. Joe was a loan officer and account manager in the banking industry for 30 years. He was an active member of Vineyard Community Church in Grand Junction. He truly loved his family and all the time he spent with each and every family member. He cherished his grandchildren and couldn’t have been more proud to be their Grandpa. His God given talent was working with his hands. He was a great artist and especially loved working on projects with his sister Beth. His most recent passion was making custom bows and arrows and would create beautiful knives with hand crafted wood handles. He loved gardening, painting cars and murals, drawing, and making costumes. Joe loved fishing with his wife Cheryl and hunting pheasant alongside his son Brad and his cherished springer spaniels. He was a dedicated Denver Nuggets and Bronco fan, never missing a game. Joe’s compassion for others, generosity, kindness, and sense of humor caused him to be loved by many. He dedicated his entire life to helping take care of the people who needed him the most. Even when leukemia and chemo robbed him of most of his strength, he bravely stood tall, helping others to the very end. Now it’s Joe’s turn to be rescued and saved, and Christ the Lord and Savior has finally healed him. His life will forever be remembered in the lives of his wife Cheryl Droskin, his two living children Craig(JoAnn) Droskin DDS, and Milinda(Garrett) Taylor, and his sister Beth Elliott.
