Michael Lee Plourd, 72, of North Platte, died on Nov. 6, 2015, at Great Plains Health.

Michael was born on Oct. 10, 1943, in McCook, to Maude Plourd (Johnson) and Alfred Matthew Plourd. He was the second-youngest among 10

children.

Michael married Donna Josephine Mary Hrnchir on Feb. 12, 1972, at St. Jude Catholic Church in Lakewood, Colorado.

Michael graduated from McCook High School in 1962. After high school, he joined the Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1965. After the Air Force, he did sheetmetal for many years and then worked at Union Pacific Railroad for 17 years.

Mike was a jokester, an antique auto enthusiast, a handyman who could fix just about anything, but most of all a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his grandkids and taking them to Cody Park to feed the ducks. He also enjoyed meeting his friend Richard for coffee on Wednesdays, fixing up his home and making sure his curlicue mustache was just right.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Alfred and Maude Plourd; one sister, Donna Morthole, and three infant sisters, Shirley, Norma and Beverly; four brothers, William, Robert, Warren and Fred Plourd; and granddaughter, Sophia Walter.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Plourd; three daughters, Tammy Tellier, of Palm Coast, Florida, Chrissy (Chad) Barnhardt, of Lincoln, and Larissa (John) Walter, of North Platte; four sisters, Marge Sochacki, of Marine City, Michigan, Anita Denzer, of Roseburg, Oregon, Jean (Bill) Lacey, of McCook, and Linda (Art) Lilienthal, of Culbertson; two granddaughters, Danielle and Adysyn; and two grandsons, Alexander and Camden.

Services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at Carpenter Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell with military honors. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Monday at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which is in charge of arrangements.
